HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy new year! I returned to my hometown, Utsunomiya city of Tochigi Prefecture, during the New Year holidays. I went to Utsunomiya on December 28th and came back to Niigata on January 4th. I spent time hanging out with my local friends, helping clean the house, and visiting my grandmother.


On January 3rd, I went to Meiji Shrine in Tokyo for New Year's visit. I went there with my high school friends.  There were so many people, so it took an hour to visit. I drew an omikuji and bought a lucky charm. After the New Year's visit, I went to Takeshita Street and looked around for old clothes. For dinner, we went to a Korean restaurant in Shibuya. The shrimp dish called “kanjanseu” was particularly delicious. 


I was happy because I met some friends who I hadn't seen in a long time while I was back home.

 I went to a hamburger shop called “World Burger” near Niigata Station on Tuesday. There are only 2nd period classes on Tuesdays, so I have free time in the afternoon. I saw this hamburger shop on Instagram before and wanted to go there.  The place where the shop is located has an old-fashioned atmosphere. I had the Argentinian Burger. The burger was huge and came out with a lot of gravy. I liked that it was a little sour. The atmosphere inside the store was calm and it was very comfortable. The hamburger was very delicious, so please visit this hamburger shop!

Starbucks

 I went to Starbucks today with my friends. A new Frappuccino called "Opera Frappuccino" came out today, so I went there to drink it.  This Frappuccino has a chocolate flavor, but it was not too sweet and was very delicious. Also, this Frappuccino is made with almond milk, so I could feel the taste of almonds. It is covered with gold powder and looks very stylish. Today I bought not only a frappuccino but also a chocolate mousse cake. This is because I'm very happy because spring vacation starts tomorrow. This cake was so delicious and made me happy. It is highly recommended, so please try it!

Christmas Market

 I went to the Christmas market of Bandai City with my friends this week. It's been raining lately, but it was fine on this day. There was a big Christmas tree and some food stands there. A lot of food was sold there. For example, fried chicken, churros, taiyaki and pasta. We shared the shrimp and tomato pasta and the clam chowder pie. Both were very good.  I especially found the clam chowder pie very tasty. Clam chowder pie is a pie on top of clam chowder. The pie was so crispy and delicious.  The Christmas tree was very big and powerful.  The illumination was also very beautiful.  I want to go again.
